Jump-to-Time Trigger - how to indicate "please wait loading"

Aug 02, 2020

I made use of the jump to time as a feature to traverse a 1 hr video into topics.

When the user loads the module and clicks for a later topic... it eventually works but I am guessing the preceding video megabytes are loaded(?) before it jumps and starts to play?

Is there a way to detect the current location on timeline in script?  If so the strategy would be to blindly change a "Loading" image state to visible and hopefully there is some way to say if timeline >= target then Loading image state not visible.

Or is there a way to know the staus of % loaded on an mp4 media asset? So I wont show my jump buttons if it has not  loaded the media.

Just my personal opinion, but I would break each topic into a separate slide. That gives you an easy way to add intermediate knowledge assessments, but more importantly, SL preloads (to some extent) slides. So jumping to a slide is very quick, as opposed to, as you say, eventually getting loaded up to the "jump to" point on the timeline.
