Jumping from one SCORM to another using JavaScript

May 10, 2017

Hello everyone!

To explain my situation first: in the LMS we're using, we have a limit of 40MB per SCORM, which means if we have an eLearning course with a larger size, we have to divide it into sub-elearnings. Our LMS however allows us to create a course regrouping several SCORMs (as you can see in the attached image)

What I would like to do is to have certain buttons in Storyline at the end of the first SCORM for example to lead the user to the other SCORMs. The problem is: the URLs of the other SCORMs is not fixed/stable. It changes depending on the trainee's ID and access etc... So I was wondering if there would be a way to include a Javascript in Storyline that will simulate a click on one of those titles on the left (in the red square 1 in screenshot). Or even the "next" and "previous" buttons in red square 2.

In other words: user finishes elearning 1, clicks on some button, the buttons run a Javascript to open elearning 2 from the left menu.

Does this sound feasible? Any documentation I can read to learn how to do do this? I'm afraid my Javascript knowledge is a bit limited which is why I'm turning to this community for help.

Thank you in advance for any kind of assitance you may offer.
