I'm trying to get this to work in Storyline and I'm not sure if it is possible.
Here goes... I am using markers to display content and with this content I have audio in the markers that plays.
Getting the audio to work with the markers is no problem, but I would like to have the marker stay up until the audio finishes and not allow the user click off the marker.
Also, I would like to have the marker close when the audio finishes with out a click from the user.
By default markers are used to reveal content only when learners need it. The title will appear on hover, and It'll automatically disappear when you're no longer hovering over the marker. When you click a marker, the entire label appears. It'll disappear only when you click the marker again or when you click anywhere outside the label.
What you could do is set up a shape, you can customize to look like a marker, and have it trigger to show a layer (that can have the look of a marker using a caption) upon hover or click, then have that layer hide when the audio is completed.
Hope this helps, and I am sure others will join in with additional ideas as well!
I know this is an old question, but I do also wish you could at least make the markers wait until audio finishes to close. I have a course where I used the layer technique instead and updating it is so much more complicated and time consuming than one where I used markers (that didn't have audio).

Thanks Emily,
Thought this might be what I would have to do, but was hopping that there might be a way within markers to make this happen.
BTW, I now can't get "Sweet Child O' Mine" out of my head. Its playing over and over.
At least it is a good song to have stuck!
Good luck with your project.
