Keystrokes and Mouse interactions
May 29, 2019
I am working on allowing both keystroke and mouse interactions on the same slide for 508 compliance issues. I have worked out a way to do it when I run the slide as a standalone slide, but when I have it as part of a scene, and jump to the next slide, I have to click on something in the slide before keystrokes are able to be used. This kind of defeats the purpose of allowing the keystrokes.
The first is the standalone slide. The second has a blank slide and you have to click the next button to get to the drag and drop. When a rectangle appears at the bottom you either type A or B, or drag and drop to the proper section. It will only accept correct answers.

Hi Doug! You might have included the same link twice, but I understand what you're saying.
When you navigate to a slide using the Next button or other player elements, the keyboard focus stays on the player. We have this behavior documented for investigation. Can you instead use a custom slide button to navigate to the slide with the keystroke triggers?
Check out this example to see the difference.
Thank you Crystal! That seems to work, and we mostly use custom buttons for navigation anyway, so that will not be an issue for us.
Thanks!
