Layers and Feedback Masters

I'm developing a template in Storyline 360 and going crazy trying to understand the link between Feedback Masters and layers in ordinary slides. It appears that every time I add a layer to any slide (not a quiz slide, just an ordinary slide) that new layer draws from a Feedback master slide. That's not at all what I want.
How can I separate the two, so that when I create a new layer it's not throwing one of the Feedback Masters onto it as well?
Thanks!

Hi Deron,
I´m not sure I understand your issue here. In storyline the base layer (slide) uses the slide master and every layer on a slide uses the feedback master. That´s how it works. The slide master of the slide shows through all the layers.

Susi
Thanks for reaching out, Deron! If you're still having trouble, could you record a Peek of the behavior so we can get a better idea of what's happening in your file?
You could create your own feedback master that is blank?
I'm not sure how this was happening, but I figured out that I can get around it by applying a new layout to the slide. When I reapply a layout the feedback layer stuff goes away.
Thanks for the update, Deron! Glad you got it sorted.
