Layers consistency
Nov 13, 2013
We have a template with a variety of different layouts. The text boxes on these layouts are not behaving nicely. They auto re-size when text is entered, and they move from their original location. I am trying to figure out how to lock these down so the text and images do not "jump" when you move from layer to layer (using a button triggered to show the next layer).
None of these elements show up on the master slides.
I inherited this template/project from a previous employee so I really do not know how they were set up to begin with.
Thanks for the help.

Hi Jessica,
Welcome to Heroes! Would the following tutorial help? It sounds like the text is set to shrink on overflow? As for their moving from their original location, I would have to take a closer look at the file itself. Would you be able to share it here? If it needs to be kept private, please submit a Support Case. Make sure to upload your .story file when doing so.
Always Happy to Help,
Adrian
Hi Adrian. Thanks for the tutorial. What is really strange is the properties for the textbox change as soon as I add text to it. It will start with the correct properties (wrap text, shrink text) but once the text is entered, it resets the properties to "Resize shape to fit text". Why does it change its own format options?
Hi Jessica,
I would have to look at the file to be sure. Also, are you using the newly released Storyline Update 4?

Adrian,
We are on Storyline Update 3. I submitted a Support Case with the file attached.
Hi Jessica,
Okay that's good news. I'll be sure to look for the case to see how it's going. In the meantime, would you be able to upgrade to Update 4 to test and see if the issue is still reproducible?
Thanks,
Adrian
Hi Jessica,
Nevermind. Just found the case and that it's being forwarded to our Quality Assurance team for further review.
