Layers created do not show as Objects on Base Layer. Due to this triggers cannot also be created. How do I make my layers to show up in the Base Layer Objects area?
Hi Kalyani, I'd like to clarify what you are looking for help with? Are you referring to creating Layers in templates and then accessing them in slides?
Thank you for your response. I am a novice trying to learn...I am trying to create slide layers.
I have a base layer and then I am selecting the option to create a slide layer which is a hotspot. Then I am inserting a trigger that says: Show Hotspot 1 (which is what I have titled it) when the Timeline starts on this slide. When I preview it does not work i.e. does not show the hotspot.
Hi Kalyani, this looks correct. Are you aware that you will not actually be able to see the hot spot, nor will it change your cursor I don't think until you have added a trigger to it.
I recommend also adding a basic shape to the layer, just so you can see that if it is working correctly or now.
So in the picture you just posted, the fact that you can see the oval means that the layer is showing.
I'm going to guess here that you want the learner to be able to click on each container, and then some other action will take place. For example, maybe they will receive new information about what is in the container. In that case, what you want to do is to create a hotspot (on the base) like the oval. Create a trigger for it that shows a layer when the hotspot is clicked. Then the layer shows with the new information, then they click something to close that layer, and can click on another container.

Layers have their own place. In the video, you can see the layer appear right above the base when it is created.
The video shows how to write a trigger so an action on the base can change an object on a layer.
To create triggers on the layer, click the name of the layer to view it, then create triggers.

I have added a oval shape. is that what you are referring to? Please see the new attachment.
Are you able to share your SL file Kalyani. Maybe just the slide you are having trouble with. I can take a quick look.
