Layers in Storyline 2
Oct 07, 2014
Hello,
I have a base slide with 6 tabs, each tab having a layer on the slide. Whenever I click a tab the layer appears (base layer buttons are still showing as they should, however, when I click the next tab the other layer is still showing and any buttons or scroll bars on the layer below are still actionable. I have clicked to hide other slide layers and to hide when time line finishes.
What else could need changing?

Hi Matthew.
Are you able to post a copy of the .story here so we can have a look?
Sorry for the delay with this, I've tried everything I can thing of, even uninstalled and reinstalled SL2.
Hi Matthew
I think the first 3 layers are somehow corrupt.
I added a shape to layers 4, 5 & 6 and linked them to layers 1,2 3
When I click layer 1 layer 4 shape comes up & nothing overlaps
When I click layer 2 layer 5 shape comes up & nothing overlaps
When I click layer 3 layer 6 shape comes up & nothing overlaps
I'll see if I can re-create your first 3 layers
Ok...I've got it working
The text box (placeholder) that you had hidden on the base layer for some reason was causing it to bomb out — I have removed it.
See slide 1.2
Wendy, you're nothing short of wonderful. Henceforth today shall always be remembered as Wonderful Wendy Wednesday.
Thank you.
Gratzie...you are most welcome
Hi, I have an issue with layers in SL2.
The base layer is fine, but when I select another layer, the base layer elements are not displaying correctly. I have attached some screen grabs.
Can someone please advise?
Thank you

Hi Leslie,
I am having a very strange problem with scrollbar. And this is strange as I had done it before successfully. All I want to do is creating a scrolling textbox. For example in this example, when you click on the first item on the clipboard-'ingredient' it should display the scrolling textbox. However I am unable to create a scrollbar. Please can you let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks

No problem. I figured it out. It was a silly mistake. Thank you
Hi Indrani- glad to hear you're all set, thanks for popping in to update. You're also welcome to share what you did here to resolve it, in case it comes in handy for other users.
Don't hesitate to reach back out if you have further questions, as well! :)
Hi Ali,
I certainly will share. It is the same technique of first inserting a scroll box object, and then dragging and dropping a textbox within this scroll box. I will try to post a video soon. Thanks
Great Indrani, really appreciate that!
