Learner experience when returning to retake a quiz

Feb 11, 2016

I have a course where the user needs to watch videos and reference videos throughout the course. I have it set up so the next button is disabled until they click on the required links and then continue on to the next slide. At the end of the course, there is a quiz where they will have 2 tries to pass. If they do not, and after the 2nd failed attempt, I would like to force them to exit the course. So I assume the lms would mark it as 'incomplete' and they will need to 'come back' and try again.  My question is- what will be the learner experience when they sign back in to take the course and quiz again. If the resume behavior is checked 'prompt to resume', will the system remember the videos and files that they were required to look at the first time? If I have all those slides set to 'Resume saved data'...will they be able to navigate through the course and retake the quiz? Will the quiz re-set?  Thanks in advance! I am using Storyline 2.

Hi Christie- I'm actually still in prototype mode, just trying to gather information. I understand the information in the article you shared...but my question is more so what happens when the user has 'failed'...exited the course entirely....then comes back in to try again. If I have the 'prompt to resume' checked and the navigation is restricted...will it remember that the learner had already gone through all the slides assuming also that 'resume saved data' is also selected on all those slides and interactions. Again keeping in mind they had 'left' the course and are coming in a day or two later to 'retry'. Thanks!
