Can Learners/Users Highlight text strings?

Hello,
I am new to Storyline but excited about its potential.
I found this discussion from many years ago, which suggests that a user/learner cannot highlight text in a running storyline project. Does anyone know of a way to overcome this limitation? I am planning to use Javascript to enable further interactions based on what a given user highlights, but that highlighting is at the base of my project design.
As a side note, although I can see why textual and other forms of highlighting would be deactivated by default, there are so many interactive potentials that would open up if it could be turned back on.
Thanks,
Ben

I'm totally agree with you. Our students ask for this option often so everything is stored in one location (and save on paper - could be some big $$ that can be used elsewhere or given back to the teachers...LOL). Students want to make their own drawings using a stylus, touchscreen finger or pen to help them retain.
Would love to see this put into action!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's been too long that developers have been asking for it.
Thanks for chiming in to share that this is a feature you would like to see, Curt.
I've submitted a feature request to our team on your behalf. I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests, which may be helpful.
Following up on this request to see if there are any updates where learners/users can highlight certain part of text?
