Learners moving onto the next slide

Sep 03, 2019

I want to make it so the next slide button does not appear until learners have clicked on each object in the current slide, or until the end of the video has played but can not recall how this is done, Id also like to delay the next slide button from appearing if there is only text on the slide. Could any one help with instructions on how to do this please?

1.  TEXT ONLY ON SLIDE

  • Add a trigger at the beginning of the slide to hide the NEXT button when the timeline starts
  • Add another trigger to show the NEXT button when timeline reaches ?? seconds.  You can decide how long the user will have wait/read before the button appears.

2. WHEN VIDEO ENDS

  • Add a trigger at the beginning of the slide to hide the NEXT button when the timeline starts
  • Add another trigger to show the NEXT button media (select the video) completes.

3. OBJECTS ON SCREEN

  • Add a trigger at the beginning of the slide to hide the NEXT button when the timeline starts
  • Add another trigger to show the NEXT button state of ALL objects are VISITED.

Normally, when you make an object clickable, SL adds a VISITED state to that object.  So clicking it sets that object to visited.  The one trigger described above should work.

Okay i have tried to do this all triggers and actions working fine but button two doesn't appear after the rectangles have been visited? i cant see where I am going wrong with the triggers? I have attached some screen shots, if anyone can shed any light on this id be very great full. Thanks

Your triggers appear to be correct.   If you share the .story (just export a few slides to attach here) I can take a more surgical look.

An alternate idea for a trigger:

Change the state of NEXT to NORMAL when user clicks Rectangle2 ON THE CONDITION that shape Rectangle4 equals Visited.

Copy that trigger from Rectangle2 and paste it onto Rectangle4, then reverse it:

Change the state of NEXT to NORMAL when user clicks Rectangle4 ON THE CONDITION that shape Rectangle2 equals Visited.
