Arthur, as Christine mentioned you can create a variable and set its value based on one of the built-in quiz results variables. In my example, I use the Results.ScorePercent variable, to set my LetterGrade custom variable to A+, A, ... I wonder though if you also want to capture this grade in an LMS and if LMSs accept grades like A, B... (can't test this right now). I (vaguely) remember that some LMSs allow you specify a lettergrade scale instead of a percentage-based one.

Not using a built-in method, no. You might be able to modify this and display a letter grade using a variable, based on what the user scored.
I'm sure there are some other options, and I'd love to hear some suggestions from the community on this.
