I have the same problem--I haven't even tried publishing yet, but it does this in preview. I thought it was because the lightboxed slides were white underneath dark content, but changing the background fill to black didn't help. I even tried going into slide master and changing the backgrounds on those particular slides.
Thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry you're running into this issue. Just to confirm, we do have a bug reported where:
Lightbox slide shows a white space and flickers when loading in the Classic Player.
We don't have this reported for the Modern Player, so that may be worth trying if possible. We're still monitoring the impact of this bug, so I appreciate you letting us know that it's affecting your projects, and we'll be sure to update you with any progress.
Thank you for letting us know! As Ren mentioned, we haven't been able to recreate this issue while using the Modern Player. With that said, would you be able to share the file that is experiencing this issue for further troubleshooting? That would help out greatly to see if the issue is potentially more widespread.
You can share files in this thread here or you’re always welcome to share them privately here. We'll let you know our findings and will delete it after having a closer look!
Every lightbox action results in a white flash before the content of the slide appears. This is especially evident when using a transition (like fade or zoom). When no transition is applied, the flash is quick.
This bug is killing the transition effects (ie. if I wanted a lightbox to zoom into view for example)
Thanks for letting us know you're running into this too, and I'm sorry it's causing issues for your course! I'll be sure to share those additional details with our team that transitions cause even more obvious flashing.
To update the conversation, we've discovered that the lightbox flickers as well in the Modern Player as of Update 40.
I'm sorry I don't have a timeframe for a fix, but I will be sure to jump in here when there's any progress to share.
Just discovered I'm having this issue in the Modern player as well - very disappointing to discover it's been a known bug for all this time and still hasn't been fixed. Articulate Staff - any updates?
Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue. The bug associated in this discussion is still open and we don't have any new updates to share.
With that being said, I'll be glad to take a look at your project file so I can confirm if you are being affected by the same issue, or if the behavior is being caused by something else. Would you be willing to upload a copy of your project here or privately through a support case so we can take a look? We'll delete it when we're done!

Hey Ian! Thanks for letting us know what's going on.
Did you publish for web, LMS, or something else? Did you host the output on a web server or LMS for testing?
Hi Alyssa,
I'm working with Anna from Articulate Support now :)
It's published for LMS. I notice it when I test it locally, in SCORM Cloud, and our corporate LMS.
Perfect, Ian. Thanks for letting us know that you're working with Anna.

Hi Ren,
I've been using the Modern Player. Looks like the bug may be more widespread that you originally thought?

This bug has been known for at least 3 years. Articulate still hasn't fixed it.

My colleague has submitted a new ticket on this and has submitted the file to look at.
