Lightbox, Variables, and States

Oct 25, 2013

Hello Everyone, I am going to test your knowledge since I am scratching my head on this problem.

I have a slide in scene 7.1, the slide is a series of buttons that open lightbox pop up pages that are housed in another scene (16.1 - 16.12) The lightbox is set up so you can scroll through the deffinitions in the light box so you do not have to keep going back to the parent layer (7.1) To see each of the 12 items the user needs to view.

I set up the buttons in slide 7.1 with two states. I then set a boolian variable for each button and when the timeline starts on 16.1-16.12 the variable is chanigng from false to true. Slide 7.1 is waiting for a variable change which changes the state.

The problem I am having is that it seems that when the variable in the light box changes on slides 16.1-16.12 the state is not chagning on the variable change on slide 7.1

Does anyone know how I can overcome this problem?

Thanks for all of your thoughts everyone. It looks like I will need to not use the light box functionality and move my slides onto slide layers. I have the variable set that changes the state on timeline start, but because the timeline has already started before the light box opens, when the lightbox closes the timeline does nto start.

Leslie, it would be nice if there was some kind of constant listening for variable changes on slides. That would make the lightbox feature work a whole lot better.

Thanks Again.
