I have 4 separate Storyline modules - each module links to the same PDF through the resources button in their own player. All the links are exactly the same. Only two of the modules work, the other two say the item has been moved or not found. Any ideas please.
Strange that the links work in only 2 of the 4 files, especially since all the links point to the same document. What version of Storyline are you using? Storyline 2 Update 11 fixed issue where file attachments wouldn't be saved in the Storyline project file prior to publishing, so you'll want to be sure you're running the latest update.
Where is the PDF stored? Were all four of the modules created on your local hard drive? You'll also want to make sure you're testing the published output within the intended environment vs. testing it locally. As you'll see described here, testing it locally could cause you to encounter some security restrictions or issues with file playback.
Hello, thank you for getting back to me. I am running Storyline 2 update 11. The pdf is stored with the modules (cloud based). I checked pop ups and tried renaming the pdf and saving it somewhere else, and simply copying the name from one module to another - still nothing.
I would suggest saving and publishing the four files from your local hard drive, since working on a network drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. Once you save your files locally, you'll also want to save the PDF locally and re-link it in all four files. After you publish the files again and upload to the intended envronment, test the resource links, and let me know if you're able to see the PDF in all four modules.
