LMS does not show a module as "Completed" after completion only for some users

Jun 16, 2021

Hi,

For a few of our elearning modules, we have heard back from the users saying that they do not see "Completed" status after going through all the slides. But when I attempt the same module on the same platform, I see the status changing just fine.

We thought of adding a completion trigger in the last slide. But this would mean that the learner can simply skip everything to the end and we do not want to restrict navigation through menu.

We currently use SCORM 1.2 with Reporting settings as "Completed/Incomplete" and the Tracking settings as "When the learner has viewed 100% of slides".

I am trying to figure out if this is an issue. If it is, is it an issue in the LMS, an issue with browser compatibility, something completely different?

Please help.

Thank you

Darshan

Hi Darshan,

It sounds like some employees are clicking Next before the slide finishes. Tracking by viewing slides only works if the employees stay on the slide until the end of the timeline.

To ensure the employees are viewing ALL the slides, you need to:

Restrict them from advancing until the slide completes.

  • Menu > click on cogwheel, > select either Restricted or Locked.
Make sure Restrict or Lock Previous/Next buttons is also checked.

If you are using the Seekbar, change the setting to read-only. Otherwise, they can scrub to the end.

  • Features > Seekbar = read-only

Hi Carolyn,

Thank you for the reply.

I am sure we do not have to view every slide until the timeline ends to get a completed status when tracking by viewing slides.

I too had this doubt. So I ensured I do not watch the slides untill the end. I even clicked next for a few slides right when the slide started. Yet, I was marked Completed.
