LMS Security

Nov 16, 2023

Hi There, My client is very concerned about using 'Storyline 360' because Google calls it a Cloud-Based application. I understand that *some data is communicated, but how can I soothe my clients fears? is there any documentation that states that you can work off-line? is the cloud based part just availability to icon sets? I'm a bit confused myself! (NB we will not be using Review 360).

Any help + something I can show as confirmation of safety of this product would be great :)

This article might help qualm your client's fears: Articulate Receives Security Certification From US Federal Government—FedRAMP® - E-Learning Heroes

FYI:

  • Rise 360 is a cloud-based application. All of it exists and works in the cloud.
  • Storyline is an app that is installed on a computer. The user has to be connected to the internet and logged into Articulate 360 when using Storyline 360. That connection allows for accessing the Content Library. I believe it also is used to ensure that a given license is only used by one device at a time. But that doesn't allow others to access the data within a Storyline file.
  • The published content from a Rise or Storyline course will be as secure as the website, LMS, or LRS it is put in.
