Maintaining a visited state - even after updating a Storyline project

Sep 06, 2016

Hello

Is there a way to maintain the visited state on objects even if a Storyline project is updated with a newer published version?

I have a project where there was a requirement to have buttons, for example, show as being visited in order to show a learner their progress through the entire program.  Now there is a requirement to update the project.  My concern is that once I update the project all of the tracking that Storyline does will be reset to baseline / start.  Is there a way to avoid this either now or in the future?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for reaching out here about this. You're correct, when you update (overwrite) existing course files in your LMS or web server, learners who previously started the course won't be able to resume where they left off. They'll start over fresh at the first slide in the updated course. There's no way we support to avoid this, and I don't have any updates to share in regards to the future- however, we do encourage you to share your thoughts with our production team by way of our feature request form. :)
