I'm having challenges with getting courses to be 508 compliant with the new Articulate Storyline 2. For some objects (I think this is particularly for objects that have multiple states, some with semi-transparent objects on them), when I set the object to "visible to accessibility devices" and then preview the slide, the object does not appear when I try to tab through the screen.
I do see that Storyline 2 still has some accessibility issues, especially in a scenario such as you mentioned where another object is added to the state of an object. I don't have any updates on this issue, although I know our team is actively looking into the issue.
As mentioned if a buttons state contains more than one object that will not show up to a screen reader, bake all objects into a single image for button states and it should work.
Text counts as an object btw so an image with text overlaying it will not be 508 compatible.
