Markers are not acting consistently

Jul 01, 2020

Can someone help me with an issue I am having with articulate storyline. I have markers that are doing one of two things. Neither of which seems consistent with what I am trying to achieve.

In one example the marker has a number identifier. I copied this marker from another slide. The copied marker had a question mark identifier and then I changed it when I moved it to the new slide using the 'Change Icon' button under the format section. However after the user clicks on the number the marker reverts back to a question mark and stays that way.

The second issue I am having is when I try and get the marker to change the state of a button after it has been 'visited' . However I keep on getting the error 'The Shape Marker 1 does not have the stated visited' However I have obviously used markers before and they do have a visited.

I shall enclose the .story file for you to look at and maybe someone can help. The issue is with marker 4. Many thanks

Hi EGS3,

All you need to do here is to rectify two simple errors that are easily made.

In the first case, although you have changed the marker in its Normal state to a number, the other states are still the original question mark. Change these to the number and everything will be okay.

In the second case, you only have a Normal state for your marker. You will need to create a Visited state for your trigger to work.
