Master layer button - Switches slide to base
By
John Burton
Hi,
Confusing title I know!
I have created an exit button on the master layer (base) that "shows" a layer called "confirm exit". On this layer is a dialog box with a yes/no that either exits the course or hides the layer.
This works well for most slides...except where there are multiple layers. If you happen to be on a layer within a slide and click the exit button the dialog appears but it seems to switch back to the base layer of that slide. I have tried adjusting the properties of the master dialog layer with no success.
I also tried adding the layer to all master slides instead of just the top one.
Ideas?
Thanks,
JB

Hi JB,
Check the slide layer properties of your confirm exit layer and make sure that the Hide other slide layers option is deselected... Hopefully that will sort things out!
Hi Matthew,
Tried that and no difference. I think because the layer is a sub-layer of the Master Base Layer it forces that to display. I'm thinking now that I will place a "block-out" shape on the pop-up layer that covers everything.
Thanks for your reply.
Pity, I thought that might do the trick. Sounds like you've found a solution though...
Thanks for the update John - and if it's something you'd like us to take a look at you can always share the .story file here with us to take a look at the slide masters.
