I have a question with 5 elements, but only 4 answers to choose from (one answer is selected twice)
e.g.
1. - A
2. - B
3. - A
4. - C
5. - D
In my trials, Storyline is not intelligent enough to notice that A is identical to A, and thus, interchangeable. I have tried using drag-and-drop and drop-down.
Please let me know if there is a simple way to make this work!
These graded question types require you to have the 1:1 match, so yes the user would have to put the right 'A' with the right number as you set it up in form view.
Sounds like you may need a more custom set up and perhaps the free-form options will work better. I invite you to check out this thread as well.
Thank you Walt and Leslie for your help. I think I will go with another solution. I will add some more statements and split them into two slides. That way there is no repeated answer on the same slide.
I do find it unfortunate that Storyline does not allow for this.

Alison,
Here is one way to make that work. You need to create 2 instances of answer A.
It's not very elegant, but it works.
