Memory test interaction: Looking for ideas on how to approach this...

May 23, 2016

Hi gang,

I'm trying to reproduce something like this simple memory test: https://www.psychologistworld.com/memory/test2.php

The gist of the interaction i'm trying to make is this:

1. Present slide 1 with a random list of, say, 10 words to the learner. Let them view it for about 30 seconds.

2. Then, in the next slide (say, slide 2), present 10 text entry fields. The challenge for the learner is to enter as many words as she can remember from slide 1 into each field. (One word per field. And, words can be entered into any field randomly.)

3. Finally, when the Submit button is clicked, the interaction checks each word from all fields in slide 2 against a list of "correct" words and gives feedback about how many of the user-entered words from slide 2 matches the list of correct words.

I don't think the fill-in-the-blank quiz will work here b/c that feature only checks one entry field against a list of correct choices. What I'm looking to do is to check 10 entry fields simultaneously against the same list.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi, Mel -- Thanks for reaching out! If you happen to already have a file started, you are welcome to upload it to help illustrate what you have in mind, and hopefully others will have some design ideas to share!

I thought I might also pass along the following Memory Test/Game-related resources that might be of interest to you:

Hope that helps! :)
