Menu spacing in Storyline

I'm having some spacing issues in the Storyline sidebar menu.
I have a scene with several slides, and then the rest of the scenes just have one slide. I get why there might be extra space after the multi-slide scene, but not sure why there would be an extra space further down the menu. I'm attaching a screen shot of my menu (pixelated to protect my client). There's an arrow indicating where the extra space is. I know it's small, but my client noticed it so I need to deliver a perfect menu to them.
Any suggestions on why that extra space is there? I checked, and my scene title and slide title are single lines.

Hi Patricia:
Removing the Story Name from the top of the menu in the player dialogue will provide you more horizontal space.

Thank you, Dennis, but I'm not sure what you mean. I'm concerned about vertical space between menu items.

I thought you were concerned about the left margin spacing. Unfortunately, your image makes it hard to determine what would be causing the gaps above and below the line in question.
Does that line contain international characters such as è^çÉ ?
