Missing Background Issue
Feb 29, 2020
As you can see in the attachment, I have a fraction of a second (.25) before my video starts playing. You can also see that I added a black square under it that is larger than the entire slide. I aligned that black square with the Beginning play head of the time line. There are no triggers associated with this square, so it should play from the beginning and then remain behind the video once it starts playing. When I preview, I get .25 seconds of white (no background) instead of that large black square. Any ideas what I am missing here?

Without seeing the storyline file it's hard to tell. Maybe a slide transition or animation effect on the black square added by mistake?
None of the above. Here is the Storyline file for the slide I am having the issues with. The problem exists on other slides, but I assume the solution for this one will be the same for the rest. Why is there this split second of white when you preview?
Yup, your right. Seems to be a player issue. I tried the classic player and didn't notice it. I also tried the Modern player with the light settings and works much better, Must be a bug. Perhaps an older version of the player make work?
I've noticed these white flashes at the beginning of the first slide in SL3. This only started after I did a recent upgrade. It is annoying and something I hope the developers address soon.
Are you interested in any other comments regarding your presentation?
Come to think of it, this did just start happening after the last update.
Thanks for the offer, but no....I'm all good aside from the white flashes.
Ticket has been opened, they were able to replicate the issue and are looking into it. They confirmed it is an issue starting with SL Update 36 and recommend installing and working with update 35 until it's sorted.
Thanks for the update!
