Modern Player and the Mobile Player

Greetings Folks:
I have two questions:
1. Am I correct in assuming that there is no option for a permanent download to an iPad or Tablet device via the Mobile Player when the modern player (HTML5 only) is used? The reason I'm concerned is that Flash clearly won't last much longer (Adobe stops support in 2020) and my customers enjoy being able to view their courses offline.
2. Are there any plans for allowing Articulate programs produced as "HTML5 only" courses to be downloadable to an iPad or Tablet device?
Sincerely,
Rod Machado

Hi Rod,
The Articulate Mobile Player (AMP) output only works with Storyline’s classic player style. Thanks for letting us know you have a need for compatibility with the modern player! For now, if you need AMP output, be sure to choose the classic player style before you publish.
Also, we're tracking requests for "HTML5 only" courses to be downloadable to an iPad or tablet using the Articulate Mobile Player, so I'll add your voice to that request!
Thank you, Alyssa. I sure do appreciate it.
Best,
Rod
Greetings Alyssa:
Does it make a difference if I choose HTML5/Flash or Flash/HTML5 in the slider selection when outputting to the AMP? Either way, if one isn't available the other will be used by default, no? I'm not sure why we have two choices here.
Thank you so much,
rod
You're spot on, Rod! You can publish with HTML5/Flash or Flash/HTML5, and both outputs will work in the Articulate Mobile Player.
We offer both choices because some folks want to default to the Flash output, while others want to offer Flash only as a backup in case learners are using older browsers.
