Articulate Reporting Score Before the Results Slide

May 18, 2021

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if anyone else might have run into this, but I figured I'd give it a shot on this forum. I just noticed that in Moodle, if I answer x amount of questions in an Articulate assessment then exit the assessment before it is complete, Moodle is giving the average score of the number of questions I answered (not of all the questions in the assessment). For example, if I start the quiz and answer 1 question and exit there, I get a score of 100%. If I answer 2 questions, get one correct and one incorrect, and then exit, I get scored 50%. If I answer all the questions and get to the results slide, I get the percentage reported from the results slide, which is expected behavior.

Has anyone else seen this? And does anyone know how I might fix this? Or did I just run into a Moodle bug? My tracking is set to use the quiz result slide in the publish settings, so I'm not sure why I'm getting this behavior. Thanks!

Hi, Morgan,

Storyline keeps track of the score percentage and points as a user proceeds through a graded quiz.

I just did a quick test (see attached sample). The score variables change with each question. However, in my sample, the variables are still based on the total for the entire quiz. So, after the first of two questions, a correct answer changes the score percentage to 50%.

Try putting the variable references on your slides to ensure they're working as expected. If the variables are accurate, I'd guess the problem is with Moodle (e.g., it's just reading the question-slide info and determining its own score based on the number of questions answered).
