Assessment resit not allowing new answer submissions

I have created a short course with an assessment that pulls from a question bank. During the assessment, we only want a single answer attempt per question. However, if the user fails (80% pass mark) they can go back to the start and review the content before having a second attempt at the assessment.

Everything works fine on the first run through. If the user passes, the correct mark is passed to the LMS and all is good.

If the user fails, reviews the content and starts the assessment again, the questions appear but cannot be answered. You can click through the assessment without answering and when you get to the results slide it has your previous failed score.

Within the question bank the individual questions have a single attempt.

On the results slide, the return to start/ resit assessment button has a trigger to reset the results slide and jump back to the beginning.

Each question in the bank has the slide set to return to initial state on revisit.

Any suggestions to fix this, not sure what I am missing?

Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing as well as your set-up. It sounds like you have done everything correctly.

Are you using the built-in Retry button on the Result Slide? You mentioned: On the results slide, the return to start/ resit assessment button has a trigger to reset the results slide and jump back to the beginning. Are the triggers in this order? The reset result trigger should be before you jump to another slide.

I want to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening with your permission. You can share it publicly here or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
