More Than a Progress Meter

I have created an assessment with a meter that tracks correct vs. incorrect scoring in 1 point increments. For example, when you get the correct answer, the meter advances 1 point to the right of zero. If the learner misses the next question, the meter subtracts 1 point, taking the learner's score back to zero.

My issue is in keeping the current meter position intact from question to question; the marker currently displays the end of the meter with every new slide. I have tested the 'when revisiting' options for base and layer slides, but I am clearly missing a critical setting.
