Motion Path on True variable change from Menu Layer

Aug 25, 2015

Hello wonderful community! I've had a chance to work with Articulate Storyline 2 and learn a great deal from the tutorials and discussion posts. But something has me perplexed with the ability to trigger motion path animations based on variables. Previewing the attached "UI-idea.story" file, the top-right menu (and Slide Master layer) successfully hides on the screens where I define the "toggleMenu" variable to False. However, it does not come back (or follow the appropriate motion path) when the state changes back to True (default). I thought I had the functionality setup proper by utilizing relative position as well, but I don't think that is my issue.

Help please! Do I have issues with how that layer is displayed?

Thanks,
Mike S.

Hi Mike,

Looks like this has been here for a while, so you may have already found a solution. I'm not quite sure what you were going for in your attached file, but I think I've had a similar issue that I've solved in the past when switching variables.

The key for me was to make a trigger that switched back and forth or toggled. To do that, your trigger needs to be =Not Assignment. This means it will switch back and forth between true/false.

Hope that helps :)
