I put two mp4 videos in a storyline training. Neither show up. they do in the preview but not when published. So I embedded them but it takes a long time for them to download. Not great for a senior audience. Does anyone know what I can do or some things to test as to why this isn't working?
try to insert the videos on your slide/layer and add a trigger "start media when timeline starts slide/layer". Still not working? Test your course at scormcloud. If it´s working there, it may be a problem with your lms/homepage. And remember it´s flash based, so maybe a browser change/flash update can fix it too.
Looks like Susi is guiding you down the correct path, and my first thought reading your description is that you may be hosting on your own servers.
If MP4 videos don't display when your Articulate content is hosted on a server, it's likely that the server isn't configured to play MP4 files. See this article for more information.
