I just downloaded the storyline demo and i am trying to do multiple animations with the same picture within the same slide. Example: I want to create an animation that shows a car stopping and going along a slide. In powerpoint i would just keep adding animations on the same slide. In order to make this kind of animation on Storyline would i need to create that scenario in multiple slides instead of just one?

You can only have an entrance and exit animation on each picture
You could create it in powerpoint and save it as a video and import it in Storyline as a workaround. Would that work for you.
I know it isn't ideal, maintenance wise but it should do the trick. Just make sure you save the powerpoint file as part of your resources
