Reusing Animations

Jan 16, 2017

I'm importing a PowerPoint into Articulate Storyline 2.  My original PowerPoint has animations on several slides.  I'm having trouble importing the animations properly on the slides that reuse objects during the duration of the slide.  In other words a text box for example will appear, remain on slide for a few seconds, disappear for a period of time, then later reappear.  I was able to accomplish this in PowerPoint by just adding multiple animations per object (providing an entrance animation, then exit animation and then later another entrance animation... etc).  I am having difficulty figuring out how to accomplish this in Storyline

Thanks,

Burk

Hey Burk!

There are two ways you can make an object disappear and reappear on a slide:

  1. Create a trigger to change the state of the object to hidden after a period of time, and another trigger to change the state of the object back to normal.
  2. Duplicate the object, shorten the duration of both objects, then adjust the objects' position on the timeline to create a gap when you want the object to be hidden.

Take a look at this quick sample file I put together for you, and let me know if either of these options will work for you!
