Hi, I created a multiple choice test with default settings. I noticed that with all my multiple choice (radio button and checkbox) questions, the correct answer is indented a little bit to the left. This occurs across all my questions. This could be an issue if students notice the pattern and just look for indented choices and select those as their answers.
I have attached a screenshot of one of the questions. I can attach more if required.
have you published this file in the format it will be deployed to users and checked the indentation there. I do hundreds of these courses and have never noticed this. Also check your DPI is set to 96DPI as that can sometimes affect how things are viewed.
Sorry that we missed your post the other week - but I'd agree with Wendy's thoughts here. If you're still having difficulty you'll want to share a copy of the .story file here with us so that we can take a look. Here are directions on how to modify the DPI setting.
Thank you for your responses. I've set the zoom level to smallest, but it's still the same. I don't think it's a device problem because the screenshot I originally took was from a tablet. Across all devices I've tried, it's been the same.
Attached is the project file, the published file, and several screenshots.
I've not had this issue but others where the checkboxes have different shape sizes and formatting. I've tried to insert new ones, etc to fix however I found I had to go into all the states and correct every instance so that there was no unplanned indenting.
This is the same issue that I had and its taken me ages to actually work it out, and then ages to fix it manually, the format painter didn't help.
Check out the differences in the Format Shape | Text Box properties, for Normal and Selected. What I found was these Internal Margin properties need to be identical.
I see. I haven't explored States yet. Did the problem arise because the default state of correct answers are "Selected" and the default state of incorrect items are "Normal"? I noticed this just now.
If I set it to Normal, the correct answer isn't marked in form view. Does this mean I have to manually change each question's correct answer by matching the normal and selected state?
UPDATE: To make each choice indistinguishable, I am currently changing the "Selected" state to look like the "Normal" state. When I set a choice to correct, its default state is automatically set to "Selected", but it looks like it's set to "Normal" while editing. It only reflects the "Selected" state when I preview or publish the course.
Thanks for posting this discussion. It is indeed very frustrating and time consuming to have to manipulate the state of every single question/correct answer when importing an existing Articulate Quizmaker file! But at least someone found and posted how to control this Storyline error. Thanks!!

I hope this may help some.

Captures are attached.
I really hope this helps, all the best, Kim. :-)
Hi Michal
I think the issue is your internal margins for the Normal and Selected states they need to be the same.
Right click the text box, select Format Shape, then Text Box.
Hope this helps.
Sorry Kim...I didn't refresh my screen to see your response...
LOL- all good Wendy. At least I know that this is the way to fix it.
Cheers, Kim. :-)

Thanks for all your assistance here Wendy and Kim :)
Michal, does your update mean that you have this sorted now? Just want to check if you need further assistance.
Yup, the issue was resolved. Thank you to all that replied!
Thanks for the update, just wanted to be sure :)
