Multiple Choice Quiz Question Fly In Animation with Option "By Paragraph" Causes Choices to Duplicate

May 18, 2017

When I use the Fly In Animation on the choices for a multiple choice quiz question the choices fly in as one and then begin to fly in separately duplicating themselves over each other.  I've gone back into the timeline and I can see that it has added sub-text boxes.  When I set the effect option back to "As One Object" it is fine again.  See attached example.  Is this a bug?

Hi Michael,

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention, and I'm sorry it's been giving you headaches! I recreated this in a new file, and just like you said, the Fly in: By paragraph animation causes the answer choices to duplicate in both Flash and HTML5

I'm going to bring this to my team, and we'll report it as a possible software bug. As soon as I get more information, I'll be sure to post it here. Thanks again for reaching out!

Just to clarify, I am in here under two logins...My original was Michael Anselmo (Michael.anselmo@wittenstein-us.com), and in this case I logged in to Articulate 360 to upload a course for review by my colleagues under "WITTENSTEIN WITTENSTEIN" (not sure why it is that way, but our IT department manages all of the software , including subscriptions, so I had to use their login.  I believe both go to my e-mail address, but I guess we will find out.  Thanks again!

Hi Michael,

Do you need help cleaning up the logins? Within ELH it could be confusing and within Articulate 360 you'd want to make sure you were using the right one to access content such as Rise and Review in the correct account as there isn't a way to transfer content between accounts. Also sharing an Articulate 360 Account is against of Terms of Service.

If you'd like us to look into your two accounts, just let me know and I can open a case for you!

Hi iTEL Hub,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨

When the entrance animation is set to Fly In: by paragraph, this will cause the choices to duplicate. As a workaround, you can change the effect option to As One Object, as shown in the image below. This way, the choices will not duplicate.

I hope this helps! You can find more about adding animation here. If you have additional questions, we’re happy to take a look at your specific scenario! You can share your file with us here or privately through a support case.
