Multiple Module Access in Litmos LMS

Nov 15, 2012

I used Storyline to create 3 files. Each file is one module of a 3-module training course that we want to present via our Litmos LMS. The files range in size from 20 to 67 slides with screen captures, etc. We chose to use 3 separate files because it seems that Litmos view each file as a module versus a course with several modules. Not to mention the challenges of dealing with overly large files.

The desire is to set the modules to be taken in the order presented. There is no testing. Just going through the module should be adequate for this exercise.

I set the Reporting and Tracking to be "Complete/Incomplete" for each module as part of the publishing process.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to get Litmos to recognize that the module is completed.

With random access allowed, the modules work as I predicted they should.

Any hints as to what I should look at?

Thanks,
Gordon

One more query on this if I may... I have attempted several different slide trigger solutions to end each module. Jumping to the "Next Slide" does not work as the module stops without completing.

Setting a trigger to "Exit Course" allows one to exit the module in Litmos, but it doesn't seem to register as module completion.

Thoughts?

Hi Gordon,

As for the courses not registering as completed, you may want to try testing your course in SCORM Cloud to help us determine if the issue is Articulate-related or if it's on your LMS's side. If it appears in SCORM Cloud as well, we'd be happy to take a closer look at what might be going on. If you can't replicate the issue in SCORM Cloud, it's probably an issue that you'd want to take to your LMS team. The articles here and here may also help clear up common LMS issues.

As for setting up course sequencing, see if this gets the ideas flowing (the article mentions Articulate Online, but it should work for any LMS).

Good luck!
