Multiple quiz attempts work in Preview not when published

Apr 26, 2023

Hello! I have a quiz where each of the 3 questions allows 3 attempts. I've used 'Try Again' to inform the user they'll be able to review the section and try again if they don't pass the quiz and 'incorrect' to have them continue with the quiz. It works great when I Preview the scene, but if I preview the whole thing or publish to Review 360, at the second attempt there's no submit button- just Next and Previous and you can't change your answer.

Adding a reset results slide should work for you in this case.  Just make sure that trigger is before the "jump to slide" trigger.

For limiting the attempts, you might want to check this out - https://community.articulate.com/series/articulate-storyline-360/articles/articulate-storyline-360-user-guide-how-to-limit-the-number-of-quiz-attempts

Hi Carrie,

Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes Community!

The attempts setting in the quiz questions refers to the number of attempts in the question itself and not the entire quiz. To set the number of attempts for the entire quiz, I recommend using a combination of variables and triggers, as shown below.

Here are great articles that you may find helpful to achieve this on your project:

I've attached a sample Storyline project that shows how this can be done so you can look at it more closely.

Also, I wanted to invite you to our tips and tricks webinars. At 11 am ET every Thursday, our training team hops on a live call to answer top questions from our customers.

It's super casual (and they're super smart!), so it's a great place to get expert tips and answers to frequently asked questions from our online community. In short, everything you need to create incredible online learning! You can register for the next call here

And don't worry if you can't make it, because everyone who registers will get a recording sent to them afterwards!

Hope to see you there!
