Multiple Response Questions

Sep 25, 2019

Can you limit the number of responses on a multiple response question? For example, students are supposed to select the two answers that apply. We have provided 4 answers. The question will let you select 1,2, 3 or 4.  I am wondering if that could skew the marks because students could just select all the answers and would that mark them correct for that question? Or do they have to select the two that we have chosen as correct only in order for the question to be marked correct?

Hi Bonnie,

Yes, you can limit the number of responses on a multiple response question. You can do below conditions when creating your multiple response questions:

  • Submit button will be enabled once they reached the required number of response on a given question. By then, you can tag the question as correct once the correct number of response and answer have been chosen.
  • Display a warning message when a student selected more than the required number of response.

You may use some of the examples shared by one of our heroes here

This well detailed tutorial might help you too.

I hope this helps. :)

Hey Bonnie,

It looks like Wendy and Khrystal have provided awesome help here! 😄

As Wendy mentioned, for the learner to get the answer correct, they would need to select the right answers. Picking each option would result in an incorrect answer. We have a great resource that provides additional details on this here
