Multiple Status Updates Within One Course

Mar 20, 2020

Let me preface this inquiry with this. I am currently inquiring with
my IT/LMS administrator to verify if the report generated by our LMS
will allow multiple status updates with a single course report.

Assuming they can... how do I program a single presentation to denote
certain benchmarks, phases completed or "status updates" to the LMS
report.

User is taking "Terence's Test" through an LMS system.
In short, user goes through informative slides; successfully completes 25 questions at end. As of this point, user has passed level 1 of "Terence's Test"
Another 15 questions are offered in level 2, if user successfully completes level 1.
If user successfully completes 15 more subsequent questions at end, at this point that have passed both levels 1 and 2 within the course, "Terence's Test".

(1)
Is there a way for me to program the navigation that a passing score in level 1, then automatically triggers a move to the next slide (question 1 of level 2)...

and
(2.)
What is required to trigger multiple status updates to appear within one
LMS-generated course report? Meaning, that when the report is generated for the results of "Terence's Test" can it denote that John Q. Public passed level 1, level 2 or both.

Thanks so much for any an all input.

Hi Terence!

Great question! The short answer is yes, it can be done. By default, Storyline sends the information but it would be up to the LMS to report each attempt.

Here's a list of data that Storyline sends to your learning management system (LMS).  Once that data is compiled in the LMS database, there's really no limit to what kind of analysis you can perform (assuming the LMS grants access to the data)!  I'd recommend reaching out to your LMS Administrator to find out what options they have available for reporting and data analysis.
