I am working on a project where we want to have two trigger events happen simultaneously when the user clicks a button. Specifically, when the user clicks the button, one trigger will jump to a specified URL that will open in a new window, and the other trigger will jump to the next slide. Can this be done?
That is exactly what I have for my triggers. In Preview, it jumps to the next slide but does not jump to the url (or more acurately, does nmot give me the message that it cannot do that in Preview). I published it to the web and tried running it, it jumps to the next slide, but does not jup to the url. I know that trigger order can be a factor, is that so in this case?
Thanks for the clarification! I believe this is actually because the Jump to URL trigger may not work properly in Preview or if you view the published output locally. Are you able to try uploading the course to an LMS or web server for testing?
If you'd like to post the slide in a .STORY file here, I'd be happy to test it out on my end.
I had the same problem that you have had, and with the same triggers. I was able to get this to work by inserting a web object on the second slide with parameters to open in a new window. So, the effect is the same: URL opened, and proceed to next slide.
I'll give that a try, although we had an issue previously with web sites opening in the same wnindow as the course disabling scroll bars. Whew, glad it's Friday!

Hi Edward!
I don't see why this would shouldn't work for you Are you having trouble getting this to work, or are you looking for general information?
Keep in mind that you'll want the URL trigger to fire first:

I'll try loading it to the LMS and see what happens. Didn't think that would make na difference, but "ya never know".
