multisite wordpress vs multiple sites

I am tasked with creating a number of online training courses (using SL2) for a single organization, dealing with different subject matters.  I am trying to decide whether it is better to use the multisite option of Wordpress or to do multiple sites.  Does anyone have and pros or cons for either of these that I should be considering.  I am leaning toward multisite since it is a single organization and because of using Wordpress.org or .net rather than .com.  Sure would be grateful for some input. Thanks!
