Navigating while developing

Jul 08, 2017

I searched for this topic but didn't find it, so if this has been asked and answered before, I apologize for the repeat.

I was recently editing a file with about 90 slides, often making small changes and then moving on to the next slide. To my frustration, I was unable to find a quick and easy way to go to the next slide while in Slide View. For example, in PowerPoint and other slide-based programs, there are typically buttons at the very bottom of the vertical scroll bar that move you to the next/previous slide. Also, the Page Up & Page Down keys often do the same.

Is there a quick and easy way to move from slide to slide in Slide View, rather than moving the mouse across the screen to the Scenes Panel and double-clicking on a different slide? Am I missing it somewhere?

Thanks,
-jeff

And that's just it. I was making changes to the slides themselves. With few exceptions, I was moving from one slide to the next and a quick and simple way to do that would've been most welcome.

It seemed very strange to me to leave out such a typical navigation feature, so I was hoping there was something I missed.

Yeah, thanks. I was just hoping I simply missed the command/button and it wouldn't require a feature request.

Undocking is a good idea. My problem with that is screen real estate. I only have one monitor and it isn't very big. It's even worse on my laptop, which has good, but not super-high, resolution. Oh well.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.
