Navigation issue when SL1 files are updated to SL2

Jan 07, 2016

I thought I'd share an issue that I've experienced when using an SL1 file to update a CBT in SL2. After Storyline updates the SL1 file to an SL2 file I have noticed that the Next button on slides will not become active until after the timeline has finished for that slide. This happens for all slides in the file even if you only have the default "jump to next slide when user clicks next" triggers on those slides. The only fix I could find is to start a new project and import the updated SL2 file to the new project. You will have to reset your Player options and rebuild Glossaries and Resources but it does fix the problem.

Hi Geralyn!

In Articulate Storyline 1, restricted and locked navigation settings only affected the menu. In contrast, the navigation settings in Articulate Storyline 2 affect both the menu and the player buttons, making it much easier to control the overall navigation for your course. To learn how to restrict or lock navigation in Storyline 2, see this article.
