.NET Framework Initialization Error - FREE TRIAL VERSION

Sep 11, 2012

I own a copy of Storyline that works fine on my PC, but I recently downloaded the Free Trial to load onto a laptop to bring to one of of Tom's conferences coming up.  Unfortunately I can't get it to load.  I also noticed that there appears to be two different versions to download for the Free Trial, depending if you do the EXE or the ZIP.  The EXE is "Storyline" while the ZIP is "Storyline update".  I wasn't sure if that was a problem when I first tried to use the ZIP file.

Either way, now I'm using the EXE file and had my IT guy update everything on the laptop with Windows Update in our quest to get Storyline to work.  Originally after installing it, all I got was a beep from the system when I double-clicked on the application.  No error message.

Then after running the Windows Updates I now get the following error:

.NET Framework Initialization Error -- Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application.

When we got the Windows Updates, it installed Framework 4.0.

Any ideas on what I need to do to get it to work for the conference?

Thank you!
