I have this issue and I don't remember having it with Storyline 2.
(On the iPad only) The audio will not play until I hit the player pause button and then play again. After that the sound from all slides plays fine, but prior to doing that, no audio will play. I've tried custom created buttons to pause/play thinking have it pause automatically then "tap to start" as a work around, but this didn't work.
What iOS are you using and are you viewing the content in the HTML5 output or the Mobile player? That bit of information will help us in testing, and if you'd like to share a copy of your .story file here with us we can take a look at how you added in the audio and set it up to play.

Hi Ashley, It was in fact the iOS version. Updating it solved the issue, thanks :)
