No audio when using Chrome, affecting multiple computers

Hi all

I'm having an issue where there is no audio on my projects when using Google Chrome, multiple computers also seem to be suddenly having the same problem. The issue suddenly popped up yesterday and is affecting all previously published projects that worked fine before this. Everything is working fine when using Firefox and Edge, and I've tryed reinstalling and updating chrome which hasn't solved the issue.

Has anyone encountered this issue before or has any possible solutions to fixing this?

Welcome to the community, James! You're in the right place for help.

Google changed the way media is handled in Chrome 66, so audio in your Storyline HTML5 courses might not play in Chrome 66 and later. Here's what to do to correct that, depending on your version of Storyline.

Let us know if you're still hitting a roadblock after the steps outlined in the above link as well as the version/update of Storyline you're using. We're here to help!

Hi Katie

Thanks for the reply, this has helped to fix the problem. However, all of our previously uploaded courses no longer have audio, does this mean they all need to be taken down and re-uploaded? this will obviously be an issue for us due to the volume we have online.

Hi James,

Yes, content will need to be republished with the latest update to allow the audio/videos to play by default if your users will be viewing in Chrome 66.
