No guides in the file - can I create a new one?

Hi all,
I am not entirely sure there is an answer to my problem, having read the section on guides and gridlines, however I wonder if you can help.
I am altering a template for another project that has a similar set up, but when I went to turn on the guides - none appear! I can see the horizontal and vertical rulers, but the two 'automatic' guides are nowhere to be seen.
Is there any way I can create new ones if there are no pre-existing ones in the file? I am unsure how this was accomplished in the template, I am guessing they were deleted when it was made, if that's possible..?
Thank you,
Sam

Hi Sam! Do you think that there is a chance that it was moved off of your viewing window? Zoom out with the scale on the bottom right, when in slide view, and see if you can tell where the guideline moved off to and move it back into your viewing window.
Hi Sam and welcome to Heroes!
I had a Storyline file that also did not have guides, but when I turned it on, they appeared. Have you tried zooming out all the way, as described here, to see if they got moved?
If you're unable to find them, can you make sure that your project files are located on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive)? Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior. If Storyline continues to perform erratically on your local hard drive, a simple repair may resolve the issue. Also, are you able to share the file with us here or send privately to our Support team and we'll take a closer look?
Thank you! I absolutely didn't think of that which seems ridiculous now. I zoomed out to 50% and saw them all at the top and to the left.
Thank you again!
Glad to hear it Sam! Thanks for the update.
