Object, normal, visited states

Feb 22, 2018

I have an object on a page with a normal and a visited state. Once the learner clicks on the object, they are taken to some information on a slide layer and click an X on the layer to return to the Base Layer. It all works, but once the learner comes back to the page, I want them to be able to click on the object again if they want to review the information. However, it remains grayed out after I click on it. Can anyone help with this please? I tried editing the layer properties to resume to saved and reset to initial, neither of those worked for me.

Hey Crystal,

This does sound possible! You'll need to use variables to make it work. Without seeing the exact setup of your file, I'm thinking you could go this route:

  1. Create a True/False variable called SlideB. Set the initial value to False.
  2. Create a True/False variable called SlideC. Set the initial value to False.
  3. On Slide B, add a trigger to "Adjust variable SlideB to True when the timeline ends on Slide B."
  4. On Slide C, add a trigger to "Adjust variable SlideC to True when the timeline ends on Slide C."
  5. On Slide A, add a trigger to "change the state of the button to Visited when the timeline starts on Slide A if SlideB and SlideC are true."

Let me know if that works!
