Thanks for allowing me to take a peek at your file! A zoom region will zoom over both the base layer and the slide layer, so you'll want to zoom out before showing the slide layer.
If you want to make it look as if the base layer is still zoomed in, you can add a zoomed screenshot to the slide layer behind the other objects.
