OCD

Greetings,

How do I change the numbering of the slides in storyview? I reviewed the tutorials for the player controls and cutting/pasting scenes. My issue is that I want to change the numbering to sequential order. I can rename the slides but I cannot change the numbering. My OCD is going haywire! Thanks!

Hi, David,

The built-in Menu doesn't always keep up when slides are re-arranged in a scene. So when you look at the numbers, they might appear out of order in the menu.

You can use the up/down arrow buttons at the bottom of the Player's Menu area to adjust the order. Or just use the Reset from story button to have SL rebuild the Menu from scratch.

For more info, here's the User Guide page about customizing the Menu:

Notice in the attached video, the slides have names, and you can read the contents, so you can see the slides are in correct order. However for reasons unknown, they are not sequentially numbered. Then you can see me moving them around (til the little blue arrow is visible), and the numbers are changed.

THIS WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE USING "Jump to next slide..." triggers. If you try it, when you move the slide, it will change its position in the project to be the next slide. It only works if you are using a custom button, and the trigger is "Jump to [slide name]". Slide number and Next slide will not work, and the built-in Next button will change back to "next slide" even if you have a slide name in it originally.
